The Chief Technology Officer’s role is to assure the successful execution of the Company’s business mission through development and deployment of the Company’s web presence. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy & Planning
• In partnership with the Company’s founders—i.e. the CEO and COO, identify opportunities and risks for delivering the Company’s services as a web-based business, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles to the success of the enterprise.
• Identify technology trends and evolving social behavior that may support or impede the success of the business.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Formal Education & Certification

• BA / BBA / BS degree in the field of computer science, business administration, or another rigorous discipline. An advanced degree in one these fields is a plus.

THIS POSITION IS BEING OFFERED BY A START-UP INTERNET SERVICES FIRM. Initial compensation will be partial ownership in the form of stock / equity. The Company has activity sought financing from active angel investors and institutional VCs. Our website is currently in development and roughly 50% complete. Jackson River is seeking an experienced Drupal developer with a broad range of skills primarily in a LAMP environment to join our dynamic, growing technology team. Experience with Drupal implementations, module development, and themeing are essential. This position is ideal for a developer with 3+ years experience in Web development and 2+ years experience working with Drupal.Our fast-paced work environment requires practical thinking, flexibility and a commitment to excellence. This position is in Washington, DC, Raleigh, NC or Austin TX. Extremely skilled developers outside of those areas may be considered, but our office locations are preferred.

Jackson River is a growing, stable, profitable, virtual company that works with select influential non-profit organizations. The Web/Drupal Developer position is an integral part of the Jackson River team, involved in multiple ongoing projects and initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, development, and implementation of Drupal based CMS sites from start to finish
• Develop custom Drupal modules as necessary
• Work with other members of the Jackson River team on systems integration and CRM implementations (CiviCRM, Salesforce.com, Etc)
• Produce standards compliant Drupal themes from PSD files and style guides
• Provide excellent customer service while delivering high quality technology solutions

Key Skills/Requirements

• 2+ years professional PHP experience in a LAMP environment
• Experience working with Web Services, APIs, etc
• Excellent HTML, JavaScript, JSON/AJAX, and CSS skills
• Ability to create Drupal themes from scratch based on PSDs
• Experience with a relational database system such as MySQL or MS SQL Server
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Detail oriented, excellent follow through
• Experience with Salesforce.com a plus
• Personality
