    Community Manager (Freelance from Home)

    Mon, 09/06/2010 - 14:52
    Community Moderator

Do you want to ensure safety and creativity in children’s play experience on LEGO Digital?

We are looking for an English and German speaking Community Moderator to join our moderation team. Our moderators work freelance from home and are situated around the world. They moderate our online platforms on a 24/7 basis.

We offer you an exciting opportunity to take on a position in which you interact with children and LEGO fans around the world. You will mainly work with our upcoming massive multiplayer online game LEGO Universe. Thus, you will get a first hand look on how children use their creativity and be the first to receive their immediate feedback.

Making the online environment safe and fun
As a Community Moderator you play a key role in securing the safety and development of the children when they visit our online platforms. Today, parents expect, and trust, that all LEGO offerings are fun and safe. We have a great reputation at stake and want to exceed these expectations. More than twenty million individuals visit LEGO.com each month and a large percentage of these will encounter content moderated by the moderation team.

Your main responsibility will be the in-game, live moderation of the soon launched MMOG LEGO Universe. Therefore, you have to keep a critical, responsible eye for high priority user reports. The purpose is to make the online experience both safe and fun through live moderation where you interact with the players as they are playing LEGO Universe. In addition, you will examine all submitted material from children and older fans, deciding if it should be approved or rejected for public viewing based on LEGO guidelines.

    Experience with children’s culture
Most importantly, you liaise easily with children and understand their way of thinking. Experience with moderation is an advantage, but is not required. We are looking for a moderator, who is preferably an English native speaker and speaks German fluently. In addition, French is a distinctive advantage. A very good understanding of and experience with IT tools is furthermore necessary.

As you interact with LEGO users and colleagues from all over the world on a daily basis, a broad cultural knowledge and understanding is important. Moreover, you are comfortable working alone during your shifts and you are a very confident decision maker. You are also able to make quick decisions, in order to ensure children’s safety on one side and the play experience and the quality of the game on the other.

    Please send your resume: productionjobs@lego.com

Re : PHP Developer needed immediatly (Vancouver)

    Mon, 08/30/2010 - 15:20
Responding to this job posting immediately gets a spam response advertising some underhand money making scheme.

It seems that half the people who list jobs in this section are scammers, crooks and email address harvesters.

Of course I flagged the posting, but as there is nothing untoward in the posting itself, the moderators have nothing to go on.
