Ninebark is a small website design and development team that caters to the online needs of social & environmental justice organizations in the Ottawa area. We have a broad network of connections in the community, and our clients include groups such as Make Poverty History, the Canadian Environmental Network, and the NDP.

We are looking for a Drupal website developer to help us take on growing demand for our services. Operating from home & in coordination with our team, you would work as a sub-contractor on our projects, rapidly developing Drupal websites according to provided designs and specifications.

We are presently working through a proof-of-concept project, taking an idea through to “wire frames” in ASP.NET (.NET 4, VStudio 2010).

Looking for a web page layout / design resource. You need to be strong in HTML, CSS and work in Visual Studio using the ASP control set ideally though doing layout in HTML / CSS that we subsequently convert is an option.

Need a candidate who is independent, works well on their own from written feedback, can manage a number of pages as they evolve without reducing the CSS file to a complex mess and who has their own tools (Visual Studio, computer, email, etc). We don’t have an office in Ottawa, so you need to work on your own though we have other staff here so working sessions & meetings at times are probable.

Specifically we need a Web Developer who is willing to work on their own time from their own house/office/coffee shop/etc. on a wide variety of small tasks ranging from creating web pages, posting content into CMS systems, graphic production/editing, simple web programming, and more.

Is this you?
* You can code a standards compliant web page...HTML, xHTML, Strict, Transitional, W3C...you know what these things are and what a valid web page is...and yes, we're going to test you on this!
* You both love and hate Adobe Dreamweaver
* You can work with Adobe Photoshop
* Subversion...being familiar with version control software/techniques is nice, but not essential
* You are willing to work quickly, but efficiently when tasks are assigned to you
* You can deliver on a deadline, even if it means staying up late...let's face it, sometimes we just get things late and still have to deliver on time
* If you're in the Ottawa-Gatineau area, that's a nice bonus so we could meet in person from time to time, but most of this work will be remotely handed off and monitored, so that isn't critical nor will it be a key deciding factor in who we choose to work with
