PHP/Wordpress Developer

We recently overhauled our website (http://www.dreamsforkids.org) using Wordpress and we need extra hands to improve its functionality.

The PHP/Wordpress Developer will be working towards adding new features and functionality to our existing website (newsletter, shopping cart, etc). It is important that this individual is self motivated and can work independently. This is a part-time and unpaid position.

* Work with the Gorilla team on new Magento projects, from initial business development and discovery phases through implementation and deployment of the completed project.
* Install and configure the Magento e-commerce platform for new projects.

* Solid experience using PHP to create and consume web services (SOAP, XML-RPC) and/or other experience implementing data integrations within the Magento platform.

We have a website that is dedicated to selling "wedding rings". Your primary goal is to get the site listed in positions 1-10 in Google (USA) under the term "wedding rings". The exact address of the site will be provided to you upon request.

The site sat in position #7 for a period of 6 months last year and then between changes to the structure of the site and not maintaining the things necessary to keep a site in a top position, the site slipped and has been bouncing between the 11th and 14th position for the last 9 months.

Approximately 45 days ago, I hired an SEO expert to return the site to the first page in Google. Even though I had all the confidence in the world that he would get us back to page one, based upon his company's track record, this "expert" failed. In a final interview, he was unable to determine why we could not return our site to page one.

Before I award this project to you, you will need to look very carefully at the site and determine whether you can in fact return my site back to page one in Google and keep it there. This means you will need to determine what is holding the site back from jumping back to the first page.

Please note that we have done everything that SEO demands:
- we have both a Google and HTML sitemap
- the pages are optmized for Google
- each page has a proper page title, Meta description and targeted text
- we have a blog that has close to 300 blogs in it and have started to contrinute to it again on a daily basis for the last 2 weeks
- the domain is approximately 10 years old
- once again, the site did sit in the 7th position in Google for 6 months

We have 12 other search terms that we will want you to focus on. The second goal will be to analyze our current standings and provide a table that shows where you will get the site in the next 1-30, 30-60, 60-90, 90-120 days under these additional 12 terms.

- Even though we would prefer to hire someone who has had great success working with one or more jewelry websites, we will certainly consider hiring someone who has worked on websites selling other commodity products.
- This will be a long-term project. We will also offer you other SEO projects related to jewelry after you have met the primary goal.
