We are a start up Web 2.0 company based in Chicago that is developing a unique consumer facing web application. Our service will allow millions of users to share recommendations for accountants, attorneys, financial advisers, and other professionals.

We plan to hire one to two software engineers in Delhi, India where one of our principals is based. The senior consultant will be responsible for advising US and Delhi based managers on critical business decisions including hiring developers, choosing technology platforms, and advising on timetables for application development. The project comprises reviewing a set of wireframes and flow diagrams, estimating the time necessary to build the site, reviewing resumes and interviewing developers along with the managers, and advising on technology platforms and development tools. The senior consultant should be available for additional projects as needed.

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, information management, or a related field, masters degree strongly preferred
- Minimum of 10 years web application development experience using PHP and MySQL
- Experience hiring and managing teams of application developers and designers
- Experience estimating timeframes, use of Agile development to estimate timeframes preferred
- High comfort level using the MVC framework for developing web applications
- Experience configuring and managing Apache web servers and MySQL databases
- Experience managing a multi-server environment running highly scalable web applications
- Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and AJAX frameworks
- Experience integrating third party API’s, familiarity with Google Maps and Facebook Developer API’s strongly preferred
- Experience integrating Google Analytics or similar web statistics service
