The role is a part-time position, compensated with equity. Were flexible on how involved you get, when you work and from where. But lets discuss all of that up front! The project will likely last about 4 weeks and will likely take about 15 hours a week. Of course, theres potential for a longer term engagement too. In addition to equity, well share our connections, our hard-earned experience and, if you get into this with an open mind, we will surely find other ways we can help you in the future.

If you're kind of interested .that's ok, email us with your questions
If you're not really interested, but maybe a little intrigued .that's ok too, email us anyway

Experience dealing with a large and well-organized code base
Willingness to adjust coding style and naming conventions to match the standards in the existing code base
Ability to work primarily in our office in Jack London Square, Oakland. Applicant may work remotely when necessary or when handling a task that has already been established.

Mobile Web redesign, Drupal experience a must (berkeley)
Are you looking for a quick contract that you can do from home in your bathrobe? Are you hoping to develop a relationship that might turn into multiple contracts? Then this is the contract for you. We are looking for someone that can give us options. We want to be able to go to our client and lay down multiple avenues for them to pursue depending on their budget and schedule. We also want to establish a relationship with a "go-to" developer that can deliver for us and rely on for future projects.
This current contract would be a bid contract to create a mobile friendly version of an existing Drupal driven website. When we talk about options, we would love to have someone be able to come to us and say, "you could do this with Mobify for x dollars or you could create a new Drupal mobile theme for x dollars." If you're a PHP master, if you are versatile and platform agnostic, can work with a LAMP as well as a .NET based system, then please contact us.
Please provide a your resume, portfolio of passed projects, and references.

Principal Engineer with a cool start-up! (san bruno)
WHO YOU ARE
You get excited when you stumble across a challenging problem.
You're lightning-fast and can write a hack version of Twitter in a few weekends.
You love to tinker with different emerging technologies (and have projects you can brag about).
You're not afraid to argue for a better solution.
WHO WE ARE
We are a cool and profitable start-up based in San Bruno. Since September 2009, weve been helping companies reduce the pain of recruiting, and to do that, we're solving an interesting problem related to voice technologies and building a next-generation platform for superior employer & candidate experiences. See more at http://sayhired.com & http://bettertalking.com
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
You will be one of the first and key team members with all of the benefits of getting early equity and making a significant impact on the product & technology direction of the company. You'll be building web and voice applications from architecture to launch; creating slick AJAX interfaces to present complex information and controls; implementing continuous deployment setup; fixing post-launch disasters, scaling up, introducing new features, and generally hacking your way to a better product. Expect to follow agile development principles and lean start-up methodology.
TO DO THIS WELL YOU'LL NEED
Experience designing, developing, and supporting web sites & apps in a start-up environment
Comfort (if not necessarily equal excitement) about dealing with both front- and back-end
Ability and passion about building from scratch fully-tested apps based on napkin design
Ideally, a proficiency in Python or Ruby
Preferably, a degree in CS
Be local to Bay area or intend to relocate here shortly
Must be currently authorized to work in the U.S.
**NOTE: Our start-up is pre-funding, but because we've been profitable since Day 1, we have the ability to pay some base salary (plus generous equity). Base salary is going to be in the neighborhood of $5K per month. Once we get funding, you will be moved to a full market salary (in the next 3-6 months). However, we're looking for candidates that aren't concerned about the up-front money and love what we're doing and want to be part of something big.
HOW TO APPLY
Upload your resume (include a a link to your portfolio or your projects) & use our product to complete your phone screen at:
