Html / stylesheet maintenance for semi-finished site (west l.a. / telecommute)

Mon, 08/09/2010 - 21:59
This is a pure front end html/css job ideal for a web designer with a good eye and aesthetic for maintainable design code. Javascript a plus but not necessary.

IMPORTANT: To weed out craigslist mass spammers who didn't even read this ad please put the following into the subject of your emails: "I can help you untangle the autogenerated photoshop html problem!"

We currently have a website (financial newsletter type thing) that is more or less adapted from computer-generated photoshop slicing to html. Looks good, but not so easy to make edits (gifs overlap, etc, etc).

We want someone who can take our existing site and make wanted edits, and also possibly help make the css / html more maintainable moving forward by standardizing fonts, styles, and so on. (Not certain if this is necessary but it might be). Also, it looks bad in IE6 and because of we need it to look ok in IE6.

Telecommute ok, but you should be local to l.a and be able to physically come in to our santa monica office at least once or twice.

No database or dynamic coding is required, just pure front end.

References and/or a portfolio would be nice.

HTML implementations with some biz dev (Los Angeles)

Sat, 08/07/2010 - 16:38
Hello,

We are looking to hire someone to a 6 month contract, for 20 - 40 hours per week, to assist us with our growing network of websites. Your job will entail two things:
The first aspect of the job will involve contacting and negotiating with websites which are for sale. So you will be in charge with responding to people whom we have contacted as well as the preliminary email conversations with these people to learn if a site is for sale and if it is – to then get the relevant details about the website. You would then hand off any warm leads to our sales manager. So, the first aspect would be you having preliminary discussions via email with potential sites that may be for sale. You would be trained to learn the questions to ask and the information to seek out.

The second aspect will involve HTML and Web Hosting. When sites are acquired, you will help us to get the websites setup on our server, and you will also help to upload the content and configure the HTML so that the sites can run smoothly on once they are hosted on our server. No detailed PHP. database, or backend programming or technology will be needed. So, strong knowledge and experience with HTML will suffice.

This is a roll that could eventually lead to a renewal after the 6 month period, but at the get go, we would need you to work from August 15 - February 15.
You will work from home at least 80% of the time, with some work being done in our Santa Monica office. We will consider applicants based in the Bay Area.
References are a must, as we will need to speak with three professionals whom you have worked with or for.

This can be a good opportunity for the right candidate.
