New Web Designer For Semi-Redesign & Future Projects (Santa Monica)

Thu, 07/15/2010 - 00:36

Hi. We're LearnOutLoud.com and we're an audio and video learning website that sells audio books. We launched in 2005 and we haven't made many radical design changes since then. We're looking for a new web designer that can work with us on an ongoing basis for various projects. Initially we want to change some designs on our site and upgrade it so it looks more cutting edge. We want to widen out the site, redesign the home page, and tweak the layout a little which will require some new designs. We're not looking for a total site redesign as we'd like to keep the same color scheme, logo, etc. but we do want to bring it up to speed in terms of its look and feel so it's similar to other good looking, popular sites on the web nowadays. We're also looking for a web designer that is familiar with mobile design as we gear up to design for the iPhone and Android and so forth. Also we do a lot of site optimization so it'd be good to have a designer who can make design tweaks for us to help us increase our conversions. And we want a designer that is reliable. Our last designer was great but she proved to be impossible to get a hold of after a while, so we definitely want a designer that can work for us with various projects that come up into the projected future (like 2-3 years at least). These projects will most likely be spread out over time but we want a designer we can go to on an ongoing basis so we can keep a consistency to the look of future designs we do. We're located in Santa Monica and we thought it might be nice to find someone in the Los Angeles area so we're posting here.

In order for us to consider you for the job you must reply with:

1. A Resume of Web Design Credits

2. A Link to View Your Web Design Portfolio Online

3. A Reply Showing That You've Read This Ad and States Your Qualifications For this Job and Roughly What Your Average Hourly Rate for Web Design Work

Thanks!

David

Web site design

I need a music based web sited designed and built, plus will need host support.

Launch Nearly Complete Zen Cart Store & Ongoing Maintenance (West LA (remote))

Mon, 07/12/2010 - 20:12
I have a nearly completed store built in Zen Cart (www.bestknivesknifestore.com).

The store uses Authorize.net as its payment gateway, is hosted on Godaddy, and is supplied via a drop-shipper (greensupply.com). There is also an embedded Wordpress blog on the site (bestknivesknifestore.com/blog).

At this point, we have all the database entries & basic programming complete. The store is populated with all the products in a way that is fairly easy to understand and highly automatable for updates to the inventory via importing a stack dump from the supplier. Now, we just need a few basic graphical and HTML tweaks to be ready to launch (front page java image-rotater & some banners, buttons, basic design on the Wordpress, etc)

My developer with whom I have been working on the project has been falling drastically behind schedule, and I am looking for another option to complete the site.

At this point, my aim is to get the store launched ASAP (within 1 week if possible) to begin taking orders and building inbound links. I have also already retained a social media marketer (at a service fee of $10k) who has an array of strategies ready to deploy as soon as the site is up and running. Thus, the revenue should begin to flow fairly rapidly once the site is functional.

Ideally, I'm looking for someone who is a dynamic and flexible entrepreneur as well as designer/ developer who would be interested in an ongoing site maintenance & optimization arrangement. A great prospective candidate may even be able/ willing to help me handle updating inventory and automating the order process. Plus, the site is designed in a way that is meant to be very easily replicated in other similar niches, and my research has my company ready to develop deploy 3-5 similar "clone" sites, each with an annual revenue percentage of over 6 figures. Thus, if you are looking for an ongoing revenue opportunity, can work promptly and effectively, and can stand by your word, you are well suited for my requirements.

Please describe any similar projects you may have worked on (Zen Cart, Authorize.net, Drop-shipping order automating, Green Supply, etc).

Also keep in mind, this site is already very far behind schedule and over budget thanks to some delays related to my current developer. Therefore, I will be motivated to work with those who (a) can guarantee timely results, or (b) may be flexible on the payments to receive a portion of compensation generated by site revenue or (c) is willing to work on a generous performance compensation basis only.

I only have $500-$1000 budget to invest in the site's launch at this point, and the higher figure would be only under a guarantee of launch within 1 week or less. I am already more than $20g deep on development alone, and have mostly been paying for nothing. However, if you can really complete this project rapidly, I am willing to be VERY generous on the back end to the right individual who can understand the project and assist in the technical upkeep and automation of the site!

Digg/Like/Hype Button Functionality for Wordpress Posts Needed

Thu, 07/08/2010 - 19:38
Simply need to add a "Like" or "Hype" button functionality exactly how it's done on lookbook.nu to every post on a Wordpress template that I have built.

1. The addition of a "Like" button on every post, which I can edit visually via css.
2. A separate "Favorites" page which is sorted by most "liked" post, and will have the most liked posts from the past 5 days only.
