Lead the technology effort on the next big thing in the mental health technologies arena.

Repeat entrepreneurs and domain experts seek an experienced technologist and architect with business acumen who'll be a key founding team member on a project with a significant near term upside - yes, even in this economy.

Clients have already expressed interest and we intend to meet that need.  As such, we're looking for an experienced technology lead with deep expertise in developing interactive web applications.  However, specific domain experience is less important than being an intelligent individual who is a hardcore architect and coder, can ramp up on unfamiliar APIs/languages/etc. quickly, has the ability to understand software design methodologies, can communicate effectively/efficiently, can effectively structure and manage teams, and has a strong entrepreneurial drive.

THE ROLE:
Join us in developing a web based software as a service solution that is intended to change the face of the mental health space.  You will be heavily involved with every aspect of technical development, from requirement analysis, design, development, and peer testing through to deployment and the management of the production environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Work with the business to plan, design, and develop/implement both back-end and front-end of web applications based on client requirements.

·         Structure and lead technology and development teams.

·         Set up and maintain a client/server development environment involving multiple frameworks, tools and engines.

·         Implement the graphical design to develop and test the functional requirements

·         Provide timely functional releases so as to meet fast changing business requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

·         A thorough understanding of OOP, design patterns, and functional programming.

·         Three or more years of commercial software development experience.

·         An appetite for elegance in software development tempered with an understanding of potential practical trade-offs in developing software solutions against tight deadlines.

PLUSES:

·         5+ years building PHP web applications.

·         Experience developing client/server applications.

·         Experience with Adobe Flex and/or Flash.

·         Experience with PHP and JavaScript frameworks/libraries/toolkits.

·         Experience with ORMs.

·         Experience with conceptual database designs and query+schema optimizations.

·         Experience developing APIs and web services.

SKILLS:

·         Adobe Flex 3

·         PHP 5+

·         XML

·         JavaScript

·         CSS

·         HTML

·         AJAX, JSON

WORK AND COMPENSATION DYNAMICS:

·         The work will be remote/at-home

·         The work effort is expected to be part-time (2-3 hours per evening) over a 2.5 to 3 month period

·         The position is EQUITY only, with significant equity stake going to the individual in this role. The expectation is that the applicant has a way to support themselves (usually a fulltime job) until we start generating revenue.

*bear in mind that though this is equity an equity comp. gig the solution being commercialized is designed to be completed in a short timeframe and address a very discrete business problem-- this is NOT A PIE IN THE SKY, SOLVE EVERY PROBLEM SOLUTION thus the realistic expectation is that we will generate revenue within 3-5  mos.

APPLYING FOR THE ROLE:
• Please reply with resumes, code samples, and with any questions you might have
• Please submit contact info in response and best time of the day to call

THIS IS NOT A FULLTIME OR PAID POSITION AT THIS TIME, PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A PAID POSITION ONLY
